It combines elements of extrusion and injection moulding with blow moulding techniques, offering high precision, strength, and clarity. The method is especially favored in the beverage, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.<\/p><hr data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"594\" \/><h3 data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"638\"><strong data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"638\">Mechanism of Stretch Blow Moulding<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"822\">Stretch Blow Moulding generally occurs in two main steps: <strong data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"720\">preform production<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"742\">blow moulding<\/strong>. The process can be divided into two types: <em data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"801\">Single-stage<\/em> and <em data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"817\">Two-stage<\/em> SBM.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"875\"><strong data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"875\">1. Preform Production (Injection Moulding)<\/strong><\/h4><ul data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"1046\"><li data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"958\"><p data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"958\">A plastic preform (also known as a parison) is created using injection moulding.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1046\"><p data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"1046\">The preform resembles a test tube with a threaded neck that forms the bottle&#8217;s mouth.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h4 data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1072\"><strong data-start=\"1053\" data-end=\"1072\">2. Conditioning<\/strong><\/h4><ul data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1316\"><li data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1236\"><p data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1236\">The preform is reheated (in the two-stage process) to a temperature suitable for orientation \u2014 typically just below the crystallization point of PET (~90-110\u00b0C).<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1316\"><p data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1316\">In a single-stage process, this is done immediately after injection moulding.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h4 data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1352\"><strong data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1352\">3. Stretching and Blowing<\/strong><\/h4><ul data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1617\"><li data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1393\"><p data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1393\">The preform is placed in a blow mould.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1466\"><p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1466\">A stretch rod extends down into the preform, stretching it lengthwise.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1617\"><p data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1617\">Simultaneously, high-pressure air (usually 20\u201340 bar) is blown into the preform, causing it to expand radially against the inner walls of the mould.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h4 data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1651\"><strong data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1651\">4.
