data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"672\"><p data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"672\">Forms the <strong data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"651\">external shape<\/strong> of the plastic part.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"740\"><p data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"740\">Fixed to the stationary platen of the injection moulding machine.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><hr data-start=\"742\" data-end=\"745\" \/><h3 data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"768\">2. <strong data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"768\">Core Plate<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"973\"><li data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"816\"><p data-start=\"771\" data-end=\"816\">Also known as the <strong data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"802\">male part<\/strong> of the mould.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"860\"><p data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"860\">Forms the <strong data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"847\">internal shape<\/strong> of the part.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"908\"><p data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"908\">Attached to the moving platen of the machine.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"973\"><p data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"973\">Enters the cavity during mould closing to form the part shape.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><hr data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"978\" \/><h3 data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"996\">3. <strong data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"996\">Sprue<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1151\"><li data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1083\"><p data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1083\">The channel through which molten plastic enters the mould from the injection nozzle.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1121\"><p data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1121\">Located at the centre of the mould.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1151\"><p distribute the molten plastic from the sprue to multiple cavities (in multi-cavity moulds).<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1401\"><p data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1401\">Can be <strong data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1321\">cold runners<\/strong> (material solidifies) or <strong data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1362\">hot runners<\/strong> (kept heated to avoid data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1599\"><li data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1489\"><p data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1489\">The small opening that connects the runner to the mould cavity.<\/p><\/li><li
