Mould Design Process<\/strong><\/h3><h4 data-start=\"2306\" data-end=\"2353\"><strong data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2353\">4.1 Parting Line and Mould Orientation<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"2354\" data-end=\"2418\">The parting line separates the core and cavity. It consists of:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2930\"><li data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2906\"><p data-start=\"2897\" data-end=\"2906\"><strong data-start=\"2897\" data-end=\"2906\">Sprue<\/strong><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2907\" data-end=\"2919\"><p data-start=\"2909\" data-end=\"2919\"><strong data-start=\"2909\" data-end=\"2919\">Runner<\/strong><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2920\" data-end=\"2930\"><p data-start=\"2922\" data-end=\"2930\"><strong data-start=\"2922\" data-end=\"2930\">Gate<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2932\" data-end=\"3062\">For large parts like chairs, <strong data-start=\"2961\" data-end=\"2979\">multiple gates<\/strong> or a <strong data-start=\"2985\" data-end=\"3006\">hot runner system<\/strong> is used to ensure uniform filling and avoid weld lines.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"3064\" data-end=\"3091\"><strong data-start=\"3069\" data-end=\"3091\">4.4 Cooling System<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"3092\" data-end=\"3358\">Efficient cooling is crucial to reduce cycle time and prevent warpage. Cooling channels are designed close to the mould surface (12\u201318 mm) with uniform distribution.<br data-start=\"3257\" data-end=\"3260\" \/>Modern methods like <strong data-start=\"3280\" data-end=\"3301\">conformal cooling<\/strong> (3D printed channels) may be used for better efficiency.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"3360\" data-end=\"3388\"><strong data-start=\"3365\" data-end=\"3388\">4.5 Ejection System<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"3389\" data-end=\"3583\">Once the part solidifies, ejector pins or plates push it out of the mould. For chairs, <strong data-start=\"3476\" data-end=\"3495\">stripper plates<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3497\" data-end=\"3513\">air ejection<\/strong>, or <strong data-start=\"3518\" data-end=\"3540\">hydraulic ejectors<\/strong> are often used due to large surface areas.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"3585\" data-end=\"3605\"><strong data-start=\"3590\" data-end=\"3605\">4.6 Venting<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"3606\" data-end=\"3726\">Proper venting avoids air traps and burn marks. Small vents (~0.02\u20130.05 mm deep) are placed near the last-to-fill areas.<\/p><hr data-start=\"3728\" data-end=\"3731\" \/><h3 data-start=\"3733\" data-end=\"3775\"><strong data-start=\"3737\" data-end=\"3775\">5.
